The Mid-Maryland USBC is honored to induct Brian Terrebonne into the 2017-2018 bowling season Youth Star of Tomorrow for Meritorious Service. For all he has done to grow and enhance the sport of bowling.
Brian Terrebonne is the seventeen-year-old son of Wayne and Pauline and brother of Christopher and Patrick . He grew up in Ijamsville, MD and He is a Junior at Urbana High School with a 3.25 GPA.
Brian was practically raised into bowling a week after birth. Brian would go to the bowling alley with his mom, dad and grandparents every Monday night at Terrace Lanes. He had the bowling bug at an early age.
Off the lanes Brian has volunteered his time helping the VFW with cookouts at the Martinsburg VA Hospital in support of the veterans housed there. He also helps with the kids at his church.
Since the age of five, Brian has bowled in youth leagues starting in the Saturday morning Pee Wee at Terrace Lanes. Over the next years, Brian worked his way up in the age groups at Terrace Lanes. Brian currently participate in the Terrace Lanes Challenge league and his current averages is 172 on a challenge pattern with a challenge conversion of 186 on a challenge pattern conversion chart.
Brian has participated in numerous Local Association Tournaments and State Tournaments in Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and National Youth Tournaments, earning trophies in many events and divisions. Throughout all his bowling outings and tournaments, he has met many new friends and encountered adversaries that helped strengthen his game.
Brian highest game is 277 and his highest series is 657. Brian Terrebonne has been a member of Central Maryland Youth Association from 2006 to 2012 and a member of Mid-Maryland USBC from 2015 to 2018. Brian also served on the Mid-Maryland USBC Board of Directors for the 2016-2017 bowling season as a Youth Director. Brian assisted in the running of many FWBA and Mid-Maryland USBC local bowling tournaments, in addition to Maryland State USBC tournaments that were held locally.
Brian parents have always been his biggest supporters. Brian’s Dad a Mid Maryland USBC Hall of Famer and USBC Silver Coach has worked with him from day one teaching him everything he knows about the game of bowling from Ball choices, attacking different types of lane conditions, how to lineup on the lanes, Hand positions, and most importantly attitude. They have spent many hours practicing different techniques to perfect Brian’s game. It hasn’t always been easy and they don’t always agree but the hard work and efforts have manifested themselves into what you see before you today.
